This article refers to the junior American Canada Hockey League & non a in favour of Western Canada Hockey League
History
1968- League began play as a Western Canada Hockey League with Bill Hunter as chairman of the board. There was Deuce divisions: East Flin Flon Bombers, Estevan Bruins, Winnipeg Jets, Brandon Wheat Kings); West (Edmonton Oil Kings, Calgary Centennials, Saskatoon Blades, Swift Current Broncos.
1970- Regina Pats are granted the franchise, & play in the Eastern Section; Medicine Hat Tigers are granted the frachise, & play in the American Section.
1971- Estevan Bruins move to New Westminster, and play in the Western Section. Victoria Cougars, and Vancouver Nats granted franchises, both play in the American Section. Swift Todays & Saskatoon move a Eastern Section.
1973- Vancouver Nats move to Kamloops. Winnipeg Jets turn into Winnipeg Clubs.
1974- Swift Current Broncos move to Lethbridge
1976- League splits into 3 divisions: East (Brandon, Saskatoon, Flin-Flon, Regina); Central (Medicine Hat, Winnipeg, Lethbridge, Calgary); West (Future Westminster, Kamloops, Portland, Victoria). Edmonton Oil Kings move to Portland. Winnipeg Clubs be Winnipeg Monarchs.
1977- Winnipeg Monarchs, and Kamloops Chiefs fold, Billings Bighorns are granted the franchise & play in the Central Section, Seattle Breakers granted a franchise & play in the American Section. Calgary Centennials be a Calgary Wranglers.
1978- a WCHL turn into the Western Hockey League. Flin Flon Bombers move to Edmonton.
